I particularly liked the section on "The Power of the pause". I have sat through a lot of presentations where the speaker overloads the audience (mostly because of time constraints) and this causes more confusion than anything else. When the audience is confused they lose interest in what the presenter has to say. I didn't hear him mention anything about "breaking the ice" with the audience before getting into your speech, and I actually think breaking the ice is as equally important as having effective content as it relaxes both parties and eases the tension of the atmosphere. This allows the presenter to be in more of a relaxed frame of mind to inform the audience, and the audience is more receptive to what the speaker has to say. I enjoyed how he included a bit of humour into his presentation also.
Great content with enough humour to make it memorable.
ReplyDeleteGood to see a presenter using the same skills he's presenting on!
